Held at the Simon Farm, a historic 5th-generation French homestead situated along Pond Creek in Scioto County, the John Roger Simon Sorghum & Music Festival was held on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29 in West Portsmouth.

The festival celebrated Appalachian heritage with sorghum syrup making, southern food, old-time music, and heritage craft demonstrations. Artisans offered hands-on activities for kids and adults.
